Zoe-perry
Perry was born July 25, 1968 in Chicago in Illinois. She was the daughter of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles included two episodes on the show as Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mom. Because of their fear of stress, the parents were not keen to let her pursue acting before she turned age 18. Perry was shy during high school and didn't act. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved to the university from Boston University. Following her graduation, Perry moved into New York to search for television work landing small roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent However, she was stricken by homelessness and brought the actress back to California and she was able to find acting work. In 2013 she performed in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. Perry was in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie as well as Kevin McKidd. This was performed in the West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry played a lead role in the drama's nine episodes from 2016 on ABC's show The Family. Perry played a prominent role in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. In the same year, the actress was selected to play a younger character of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again as a teen character of her mom's role. She was cast in the role despite her close familial connection to the character.
