Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get recognized by the rock world. The band didn't have an enormous following in the United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split from her band in 1979. After receiving voice lessons, she released her first solo album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. In 1988, she came back to the music scene with an amazing album titled 'Lita. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' both became huge hit songs. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she disappeared from the industry for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
